No — OX Securities is a real business. But the scam reports around it are under active investigation, and if you lost money to someone using its name, that is exactly what we investigate.

The short answer: OX Securities is real — but read this before you hand over any money

OX Securities is an Australian forex and CFD broker, ASIC-licensed for wholesale clients only, which the CFTC has also listed as registration-deficient for US customers. These are the facts that check out on public registers — the complaint record is what our review is still working through:

  • OX Securities Pty Ltd (ABN 71 163 551 602) holds ASIC AFSL 438402, issued 31 July 2013. The licence authorises derivatives and foreign-exchange contracts for wholesale clients. The firm's own site, oxsecurities.com.au, states that it does not represent any other entity and gives its address as Zenith Tower B, Suite 902, 821 Pacific Highway, Chatswood NSW 2067.
  • Wholesale-only is a hard limit. The AFSL does not authorise retail client business. A retail customer who was told this is an ordinary ASIC retail broker was told something the licence does not say.
  • The complaints policy dated February 2025 says wholesale clients are not entitled to AFCA external dispute resolution. Internal complaints are the published path.

Checking out is not the same as closed: the complaints against OX Securities are under active investigation, and none of the facts above protects you from a fake. Most 'ox securities scam' searches trace to impersonators, not the platform itself — the ones that don't are the reason we investigate.

One more thing before you deposit: the complaints around OX Securities are under investigation — by us, not by a regulator. On 29 May 2025 the CFTC RED List added OX Securities Pty Ltd and OX Securities Limited (SV) at oxsecurities.com. That listing means the CFTC believes a foreign entity is soliciting US customers in a product that appears to require CFTC registration, and that it is not registered. It is not a fraud conviction. A June 2025 Forex Peace Army complaint describes profits of about $2,000 on a $5,000 deposit being voided under a “Section 6.13” abusive-trading clause, with the deposit returned and the profits cancelled. Read which entity actually holds the account — the ASIC wholesale company or the Saint Vincent vehicle — before you fund it.

Sort your situation

Real-platform dispute or impersonation fraud?

Both feel identical from the inside. They are fixed by completely different routes — and the fastest way to tell them apart is to ask three questions.

If it is the real platform: your dispute runs through its formal complaints process, then the regulator or ombudsman. Slow, but it usually works. Type oxsecurities.com.au yourself. If a WhatsApp “manager” sent you a different OX domain, treat that domain as untrusted until it matches the ASIC licence holder's own site.

If it was an impersonator: you were never a customer of OX Securities at all. A clone site, a fake “account manager”, a lookalike domain — the money went to criminals, not to the platform. That is fraud, and speed decides what can be recovered.

The three questions: did you type the official domain yourself, or follow a link, advert or message? Did anyone contact you first? Were you asked to pay a personal account or a different domain? If any answer is wrong, treat it as impersonation — and start here.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is OX Securities a scam?

No — OX Securities is a real business: OX Securities Pty Ltd (ABN 71 163 551 602) holds ASIC AFSL 438402, issued 31 July 2013. The scam stories you see online usually trace to fakes borrowing its name — and the ones that don't are part of our active investigation. But read the note above first — the business is real, and so are the caveats.

Is OX Securities regulated?

Yes — OX Securities Pty Ltd (ABN 71 163 551 602) holds ASIC AFSL 438402, issued 31 July 2013. You can verify it yourself on the public register of the named regulator.

I lost money to someone claiming to be OX Securities — is that the real company?

Almost certainly not. Impersonators borrow the name, the logo, even the licence number. The real company knows nothing about it. Keep every message, receipt, URL and wallet address — that evidence is what an investigation builds on.

I paid a fake OX Securities site. What is enough to send?

The domain you actually used, the date, and whether it was a card, a bank transfer, or crypto. Or the name of the person who told you to pay. Or one screenshot. Where the same payment shows up from other people, those files can sit together as a class action. The first look is free.

How do I check the OX Securities site I used is genuine?

Type the official domain yourself — oxsecurities.com.au — never follow a link from an advert, email or message. Then check the regulator's public register, which lists the firm's genuine website. If your domain differs by even one character, it was a fake.
