No — NOVOLINE is a real business. But the scam reports around it are under active investigation, and if you lost money to someone using its name, that is exactly what we investigate.

The short answer: NOVOLINE is real — but read this before you hand over any money

NOVOLINE is the official German online spielothek of NOVOMATIC — the home of Book of Ra, Sizzling Hot and Lucky Lady’s Charm — operated by NOVOLINE.DE GmbH under a full GGL licence. These are the facts that check out on public registers — the complaint record is what our review is still working through:

  • Fully licensed in Germany: GGL licence for virtual slot machines granted 9 August 2022, on the official whitelist, plus a Schleswig-Holstein online-casino licence since September 2024 — the full GlüStV regime: €1,000/month cross-operator deposit cap, €5 spin-stake limit, LUGAS and OASIS integration.
  • Institutionally solid: operated by NOVOLINE.DE GmbH (formerly BluBet Operations GmbH) as the official online brand of NOVOMATIC AG (Austria, founded 1980), one of the world’s largest gambling groups; Greentube develops the games.
  • Test results are clean: German testers found no fraud indicators (MOPO test, Jun 2026: 8.6/10; Praxistipp, Jul 2026: 88–90%), with only minor complaints about peak-time verification and support processing.

Checking out is not the same as closed: the complaints against NOVOLINE are under active investigation, and none of the facts above protects you from a fake. Most 'novoline scam' searches trace to impersonators, not the platform itself — the ones that don't are the reason we investigate.

One more thing before you deposit: the complaints around NOVOLINE are under investigation — by us, not by a regulator. The caveats are minor and the danger is external. Internally: longer KYC processing at peak times, and no loyalty programme for existing customers. Externally — and this is the point of the page — the grey market is full of fake “Novoline” and Book-of-Ra clone sites that rip off players while borrowing the brand; confusion between NOVOLINE and those clones is the main real-world harm readers will encounter. If a “Novoline” site is not novoline.de and not on the GGL whitelist, it is not the official brand, whatever its logo says.

Sort your situation

Real-platform dispute or impersonation fraud?

Both feel identical from the inside. They are fixed by completely different routes — and the fastest way to tell them apart is to ask three questions.

If it is the real platform: your dispute runs through its formal complaints process, then the regulator or ombudsman. Slow, but it usually works. Verify before every deposit: the official site is novoline.de — check the GGL whitelist entry if you arrived via an ad or affiliate link. Any other “Novoline” domain offering Book of Ra to German players is an unlicensed clone, and losses there are fraud cases, not gambling outcomes.

If it was an impersonator: you were never a customer of NOVOLINE at all. A clone site, a fake “account manager”, a lookalike domain — the money went to criminals, not to the platform. That is fraud, and speed decides what can be recovered.

The three questions: did you type the official domain yourself, or follow a link, advert or message? Did anyone contact you first? Were you asked to pay a personal account or a different domain? If any answer is wrong, treat it as impersonation — and start here.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is NOVOLINE a scam?

No — NOVOLINE is a real business: Fully licensed in Germany: GGL licence for virtual slot machines granted 9 August 2022, on the official whitelist, plus a Schleswig-Holstein online-casino licence since September 2024 — the full GlüStV regime: €1,000/month cross-operator deposit cap, €5 spin-stake limit, LUGAS and OASIS integration. The scam stories you see online usually trace to fakes borrowing its name — and the ones that don't are part of our active investigation. But read the note above first — the business is real, and so are the caveats.

Is NOVOLINE regulated?

Yes — a full GGL licence for virtual slots since 9 August 2022 (whitelist-verifiable), plus the Schleswig-Holstein licence since September 2024. It operates under the strictest consumer-protection regime in Europe: stake limits, deposit caps, OASIS self-exclusion. The fake ‘Novoline’ sites have none of this.

I lost money to someone claiming to be NOVOLINE — is that the real company?

Almost certainly not. Impersonators borrow the name, the logo, even the licence number. The real company knows nothing about it. Keep every message, receipt, URL and wallet address — that evidence is what an investigation builds on.

I paid a fake NOVOLINE site. What is enough to send?

The domain you actually used, the date, and whether it was a card, a bank transfer, or crypto. Or the name of the person who told you to pay. Or one screenshot. Where the same payment shows up from other people, those files can sit together as a class action. The first look is free.

How do I check the NOVOLINE site I used is genuine?

Type the official domain yourself — novoline.de — never follow a link from an advert, email or message. Then check the regulator's public register, which lists the firm's genuine website. If your domain differs by even one character, it was a fake.
